As early as the time of Andy's initial fame with his silkscreens, He told interviewers he was leaving painting and going to be a filmmaker. He said that before he even had any technical know-how. The Screen tests were a big part of Andy's film experimentation days.
The book called Screen Tests by Callie Angel is a comprehensive work of this.
